2008 - The Birth of EBO SACCO
EBO SACCO was founded in 2008 by a group of enthusiastic individuals who shared a dream of transforming the economic welfare of their community. It started with only 36 members and operated under a tree, using the cooperative principles of mutual help, democratic member control, and open membership.
2010 - Official Registration
The SACCO was officially registered with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives under registration number 8752/RCS. This marked the beginning of its formal operations and credibility as a financial institution.
2013 - First Office
With growth in membership and trust, EBO SACCO established its first physical office. This move improved record keeping, accessibility, and formal financial operations, paving the way for structured service delivery.
2016 - Regional Impact
EBO SACCO's impact extended beyond the founding village, reaching other parts of the district. Programs in financial literacy, agricultural finance, and women's empowerment brought recognition from government and NGOs.
2019 - Digital Transformation
The SACCO embraced technology by digitizing its savings and loan systems. Mobile money integrations and digital member records improved transparency and convenience for members, especially in remote areas.
2023 - Membership Milestone
Membership surpassed 10,000, with a strong base among youth, women, and informal businesses. EBO SACCO received local awards for being one of the fastest-growing and most inclusive SACCOs in the region.
